Mountain Bike (MTB)
Beginner: Just
starting on a mountain bike, capable of riding
10-15km's on mainly open (fire) trails.
Intermediate:
Competent rider, capable of doing small
wheelie's and bunny hop's and riding 15-30km's
through all types of trails.
Advanced: Capable
of riding most terrain, both uphill and
downhill. Fit enough to ride 30km's plus through
all conditions

Road Bike
Beginner: Just
starting out riding a road bike. Able to ride
30-35km on relatively flat roads. Average speed
up to 23km/h
Intermediate:
competent rider, capable of riding 60-70km on
relatively flat roads. Average speed up to
26km/h
Advanced: Rides
more than 10 hours a week, good bike handling
skills. Capable of 100km on most types of
terrain. Average speeds over 26km/h
